Hi, I'm Simon. I've been running since I was at school. Ironically, cross country was the bane of my early school life, but off-road running is now one of my greatest passions. Running has helped me lose weight and has given me the stamina for other sports that I wanted to pursue. Whilst working abroad, I used running to meet like-minded folk and joined the Hash House Harrier chapters. We opened Up & Running Bournemouth in May 2003. It is amazing to be part of the local running community and to help people achieve their own running goals. I am also a coach at Littledown Harriers and regularly lead groups of various levels/ distances on club nights. This has continued into our store’s SRGs. I run most distances from 5k to ultra-marathons. The Dorset Doddle is a personal favourite as I think the Jurassic Coast is difficult to beat for beautiful landscapes and challenging terrain. I'm here to answer any questions and offer any advice I can to help you with your own running journey.
Join us weekly at our Bournemouth running store for a 5K run. Our Social Run Group is a great free running group that meets every week for a fun and friendly 5K. We are all inclusive where everyone runs together, so it is great for new or beginner runners. To register just head into store and speak to a member of staff today.
